10'0" Single Fin, Square Tail Noserider shaped by Pinder.
nose with lot's of float. On the bottom of the board was written "SOLD" in grease pencil. Oh well I thought the search continues. After chatting with the person behind the counter she said the board was actually for sale because the person who custom ordered it never came in to pick it up and would sell it for $500. What?! I slapped those bills down faster than the space shuttle breaking through the atmosphere. So stoked on such a killer deal I went on to continue my streak of luck and picked up an 11' board bag. The sales guy said since I'm taking the board bag off his hands he'll throw in a free 11' leash. Sweet! I have several fins which I've used on the board. First a George Greenough Stage 6 Fin, which looks like an old school "D" Fin with a cutaway at the
base. The Stage 6 works like a spring. When the board is engaged in a turn it projects my blue beast forward once the turn is completed. Different. I rode it in overhead Hurricane Wilma surf with a regular old fin. It worked well, classic. I attended the Surf Expo and met Steve Willis of MaxWax Surf Wax who was hanging with Bob "The Greek" Bolen maker of the Turbo Tunnel. Bob asked what I'm riding and pulled out a blue Turbo Tunnel stating to give it a go. I did and it still lives as an artificial limb on the giant log. I like it especially when getting around the white water as it tends to keep the board from slipping side to side as I'm moving forward. Almost giving it an on the track feel. The hydrodynamics of the tunnel creates forward projection again a good thing when riding a tanker. >
